Our Sauna

Built with care for both people and planet, our sauna combines traditional craftsmanship with sustainable design. Each element is chosen for longevity, efficiency, and harmony with the natural world.

Exterior

The structure is crafted from high-quality, sustainably sourced Scandinavian Spruce, fully insulated and triple-treated for lasting durability in all seasons. Its design minimises waste and maximises energy efficiency, ensuring warmth without excess.

Interior

Inside, the walls are lined with the same responsibly harvested Spruce, while the wide 2m benches are made from thermo-treated Aspen, chosen for comfort, resilience, and low environmental impact. Hidden ventilation channels maintain clean airflow naturally, reducing the need for mechanical systems.

Lighting

Soft, dimmable LED lighting is powered by solar energy, creating atmosphere without compromise. From bright morning light to a gentle, candlelit glow, every setting runs on renewable power, letting nature set the mood.

Our Fuel

We burn responsibly sourced wood from sustainable British forests. Each bulk purchase contributes to new tree growth. The logs are kiln-dried for a low moisture content and cut small, ensuring an efficient, clean burn with minimal smoke.

Our Heat

At Other Fold, we choose systems that honour both nature and performance. Our wood-fired heater produces up to 20% fewer fine particles and 70% less carbon monoxide than standard models, creating a cleaner, more efficient burn. Certified with the CE Mark, it meets strict European standards while delivering consistent, powerful heat.

Our Ethics

We believe sustainability extends beyond the environment - it’s about people too. We’re committed to keeping our sauna sessions accessible and fairly priced, building a business model that supports community well-being and pays our collaborators well above the national living wage.
